A bike check by ROADBIKE: the Simplon Pride

"A bike unlike any other”

Unusual details, remarkable aerodynamics, sporty design – that’s the verdict of the bike check by ROADBIKE. The bike they put through its paces was the Pride road bike crafted in Simplon’s workshop in Hard. You need more details? Keep reading – you’re up for a few surprises!

Exceptional down to the details

The first – and second!  – thought you’ll have when you see the Simplon Pride is: “What an athletic beauty!” The aerodynamically shaped cockpit with its characteristic “split” stem-handlebar-unit turns the bike into a design highlight.

And there are a lot of other details on the Pride that demonstrate true craftsmenship and an eye for detail as well: The Raptor Dropouts – backwards-facing dropouts – allow the fork blades to stand flatter without changing the geometry of the road bike.

Time to hit the road: Simplon knows how it’s done

On the road, the PRIDE performs exceptionally well according to ROADBIKE. The sitting position is athletic, and once you’ve brought it up to speed, it maintains it very well. No wonder – the bike weighs in at only about 7.5 kg total weight …

Perfect for long-distance rides

The bike is perfect for long-distance rides: “The Pride isn’t as hard as many other bikes in this category” – state the testers. Maximum comfort in the front and in the rear show a positive effect during longer tours.

Summed up – here’s what impressed the testers:

  • the sporty character of the bike
  • it maintains speed very well
  • many clever details

The only drawback: The steering head could be a little stiffer according to ROADBIKE.
