Design & Innovation Award 2024 for our KAGU :ePinion

The Design & Innovation Award can be regarded as the "Oscars of the bike and outdoor industry". Winner in the Urban category in 2024: the SIMPLON KAGU :ePinion.

We have renamed our KAGU PINION to KAGU :ePinion as of model year 2025. The Design & Innovation Award 2024 had been published before the name change.

The Design & Innovation Award

Since 2013, it has been awarded annually by an interdisciplinary 30-member jury: the Design & Innovation Award, which honours the most promising new bike products of the season - after intensive testing under real-life conditions. Winning the prestigious award requires much more than "just" good design: pioneering technologies, outstanding bike performance, innovative solutions with high customer benefits and other criteria are taken into account when assessing the numerous bike models submitted.

2024 honoured: The SIMPLON KAGU PINION

After thousands of test kilometres and heated discussions, the international award team of journalists, professional test riders and independent industry experts presented the prestigious Winner 2024 award in the category "Urban" to the SIMPLON KAGU PINION!

The unique combination of appealing design, an extremely lightweight carbon frame, a low-maintenance drive system with Pinion's innovative Motor.Gearbox.Unit, comfortable balloon tyres and the customisability typical of SIMPLON convinced the jury: the KAGU PINION is one of the best new bikes of 2024 in the urban & trekking segment!

We are incredibly happy about the award - and are particularly proud that we were able to win it again this year with the PAVO IV (in the Road Bikes category). Our Managing Director Jakob Luksch is also delighted: "The awards from the jury honour the dedication of our passionate team to continuous innovation. It is a privilege to lead a company that is driven by such enthusiasm for excellence."

Especially with regard to the award for the KAGU PINION, Jakob is certain: "The partnership with the German gearbox manufacturer Pinion has proven to be the right decision: This award is one of the fruits that we are able to reap as launch partner for our pioneering work with Pinion."
