A lightweight with plenty of traction!

Decades of experience in the bicycle industry, countless hours in SIMPLON's development laboratory, the use of several billion bike-focused brain cells - and the output? Two model variants and one big goal: to break the sound barrier! With the third-generation Razorblade 29 (SL) III, SIMPLON has once again achieved a masterpiece. The mixture of minimum weight and maximum stiffness makes the mountain bike a hardtail with a full-throttle gene.

In the standard version, the carbon frame weighs around 1,000 grams. The SL version scores with a sensational 850 grams. Racer heart, what more could you want? Perhaps more details? You can have them:

Razorblade 29 III - what's new?

The Razorblade 29 III was developed to deliver top performance. Ready for a fast ride to the top of the world. SIMPLON has really tightened the weight screw: 850 grams including paint and all frame parts! Made possible by an innovative carbon layup with special fibers and a clear, reduced design.

Here are all the features of the new Razorblade 29 III:

Smart headset
A highlight of the Razorblade is the special cable routing on the cockpit. All cables from the handlebars go directly into the frame via the headset. The advantages: a tidy look and lower weight. In addition, the cables no longer get in each other's way in front of the handlebars thanks to the shorter cables.

Power Transfer
Stiffness is the be-all and end-all of every race bike. The bottom bracket and chainstays are therefore made from a single piece. Extra-stiff high-profile chainstays with an optimized fin in the bottom bracket area ensure uncompromising propulsion. So you can conquer any mountain with ease!

Extra protection for the frame
Over hill and dale, through mud and sludge without scuffs and scratches? No problem for the third generation Razorblade. To keep the carbon frame intact, stainless steel protectors are laminated into the inside of the chainstays.

Comfort Concept
Comfort is important for a hardtail. The rider should be relieved of strain, especially on uneven terrain. To ensure this, Simplon uses the flex of the filigree seat stays, a flat top tube and a carbon seat post with a diameter of 27.2 millimetres. Comfort all along the line!

The geometry of the Razorblade 29 III has also been changed: The reach is slightly longer, the stem shorter and the head angle slacker - for more safety and control off-road.

Razorblade 29 III SL

Are you looking for the perfect companion for stage races and never-ending marathons? How about the Superlight version of the Razorblade? Even less weight with maximum stiffness!

The special feature of the SL model line: the super-lightweight Tune thru axle in the hollow carbon dropout - as standard, of course!

First Ride - with the SIMPLON Razorblade

Christoph Soukop carried out the ultimate uphill test with the Razorblade 29 III. The Olympian and multiple national champion rode the race bike up the Anninger in Mödling. Not just for pure riding fun. No - the aim was to break the STRAVA record. In other words, to get to the summit in under 15 minutes and 38 seconds. You can find out whether Christoph Soukop succeeded with the new Razorblade on Facebook!
