What is a TQ Motor?

Whether you are riding to work or climbing a mountain pass, TQ e-bike motors are designed to provide a particularly natural riding feel. The compact drive unit can be discreetly integrated into the bike and operates quietly. The assistance is designed to adapt smoothly to your own riding style.

The HPR gearbox is positioned directly around the crank and contributes significantly to the compact design of the drive unit. TQ’s HPR technology is based on a Harmonic Pin Ring gearbox and enables high power density with low weight. An integrated freewheel system also ensures that there is no noticeable resistance when riding without motor assistance.

TQ HPR50 vs. HPR60: The differences

The TQ HPR60 is the next generation of the HPR50 and offers more torque and power while retaining its compact design. Both drive systems use TQ’s characteristic HPR technology and are designed to provide a natural and quiet riding feel. The HPR60 delivers up to 60 Nm of torque and up to 350 W of power, while the HPR50 provides up to 50 Nm and 300 W.

The HPR60 has been further developed compared with the HPR50, including improvements to thermal stability, efficiency and noise levels. The display has also been further developed for the HPR60.

Display, remote and range extender: The TQ system at a glance

The integrated display shows important information such as battery level, riding mode and remaining range directly on the bike. With the TQ e-bike app, you can view riding data and adjust the assistance to suit your preferences.

The compact remote unit on the handlebar allows you to switch between assistance levels and activate walk assist when needed.

For longer rides, you can equip your TQ e-bike with a 160 Wh range extender. The additional battery increases the available battery capacity and can be charged together with the main battery, depending on the system.

Who is the range extender suitable for?

The range extender is particularly useful if you regularly ride longer distances or tackle lots of climbing. It can also be a practical option for bikepacking, weekend rides or longer tours where you want greater flexibility when it comes to range.
